Georgia

We made a quick trip (6 hour drive!) to Georgia this past weekend. We drove to North Atlanta for Josh's little brother, Seth's, lacrosse game! Josh and I had never been to a game nor watched lacrosse before so it was a learning experience! Seth played great and Greenbriar won both games! GO PACK! Seth is goalie, in the first picture is on the far left, #28, and of course in the second picture he's at the goal. ;)

After the game we drove back to Josh's parent's house in Evans (right outside of Augusta). It was late so we all crashed as soon as we go there, and it was there church yard sale the next morning. They had to be there by 5:30, so Josh and I "slept in". We change time zones when we go to there house, so when Josh set the alarm for 7, I knew it was really 6, he can't fool me! But I knew we needed to get going, so I only mumbled a few growls at him about it being Saturday. ha! We headed over to the yard sale where I found a high chair for $3! yippee! The one I got is $25 in stores! We left the yard sale, then Josh and I rode with Mr. Allen to Home Depot and Augusta Marine. I'm not really sure what we got in Home Depot, I went and priced some doors (So my sweet husband can replace our ugly one's!) Then headed over to Augusta Marine, so Josh could drool over this pretty boat he wants. Keep dreaming buddy!

We packed up our stuff and headed to Providence Ferry-Lake Thurmond (aka-Josh's parent's lake house!) Josh & Mr. Allen had there mind set up that they were going to hook up the satellite on Saturday. So, while Judy, Seth and I sat back in recliners, snacked, walked around the house, snacked some more, reclined some more....6 hours later, they still haven't figured it out. They have it rigged but Judy told them to give it up, she would call an electrician next week! ;) The whole afternoon we begged them to put the boat in the water, but that never happened.

Mr. Allen smoked a yummy boston butt! We ate dinner, then Josh & I headed our for a little ride on the golf cart down to the lake.

Sunday morning, as I'm packing our stuff and helping clean up some (Josh & Mr. Allen are still trying to figure out the satellite!) Josh's cell phone rings. I find that it's Seth, who had gone for a ride on the golf cart with Dixie. This is how the conversation goes...

Seth: Hey, uhh..Whitney?
Me: Yeah?
Seth: Where's Josh?
Me: Working on the satellite
Seth: Umm, I might need some help.
Me: Okay...
Seth: I'm stuck......

Judy and I jump in the truck to ride down and survey the damage. Sure enough, he's STUCK! 2/3 of the back tire is in mud, ha! We call Josh and Mr. Allen, saying indeed we couldn't be of any help and they needed to come!

They tried a little push....
Not happening, new plan! They drove the truck down on the little sand bar and pulled it right out!
Seth's punishment? He had to wash the golf cart! :) And we made fun of him a little too! ;)
Love ole' Seth in-law!

It's really a wonder I made it home, Josh is not a very good driver in traffic. Well, let me re-phrase that, he's a good driver, but has TERRIBLE road rage! I can't tell you how many times he laid on the horn at someone going the speed limit. I heard "The speed limit is 70! You can go 75, get out of my way!!" or "People in Georgia don't know how to drive!" "Get up out my way!", etc. The list could go on forever. I pressed my imaginary break probably a thousand times, and held onto my "oh crap strap!" a good bit! With a lot of prayer, and a lot of just closing my eyes, I made it their safely and back!..wooo! what a ride! :)

Busy=Understatement

The title of this blog is so true, and the only reason I actually have time to post this is because I can only do so much during nap time, or I'd wake up every baby in the house. And I have learned that there sleep  causes me to keep my sanity some days. I'm not quite sure why we plan things on Sunday when it's supposed to be a day of "rest". HA! I'm resting today, Monday! Saturday morning we had a church clean-up/throw-out day. Our WMU group served breakfast which means we were at the church at 6:30 AM (SERIOUSLY?!?!) Who do I blame? My dad, he's over the Brotherhood group, which partners with WMU. After 4 hours of cleaning, we had a baby shower to get ready for! We were not quite as prepared as we thought we were and I spent until 9:30 PM getting ready for it! Ironing ridiculously wrinkled table cloth, that took up 3 hours of my Saturday night! However, Sarah's shower turned out to be beautiful and we are so excited for Nora to be here before we know it!

We have Founder's Day/Revival next week at church, which was the purpose of the clean up day.
In 3 weeks, I'll be hosting my childhood best friends, Julia Smith, lingerie shower! That should be fun and interesting all the same. That weekend is also Michelle's first baby shower and Mother's Day.
The weekend after is my BIRTHDAY! Hoping we can make a trip down to the beach on that Saturday and on Sunday is Michelle's 2nd baby shower that I am helping host at church! The weekend after that is Memorial Day, and I SO hope we can make it to the beach for a couple of nights. But will be making a trip to Spanish Fort for my other childhood friends wedding, Meagan Hutcherson!  June 2nd is Kayla & Ryan's His/Hers shower at church, and I pray I have a few weekends off from showers. But I doubt it, because then we have weddings! :) Michelle is due the beginning of July, so we will probably have a baby in the next 2 months! :) I have all of these things keeping me busy, that I'm hoping our family vacation planned for Labor Day weekend gets here quickly! I can't wait to spend 4 nights/5 days with my toes in the sand! ahhhhh......Calgon, take me away!

Ladies Tea at Eastwood Baptist

Our WMU Peculiar Treasures group hosted a Women's Tea on Saturday (4/14/12) We asked women in church to host a table and invite others to sit at there table. We all had a great time decorating and helping each other with our tables. We had an over-abundance of delicious food! We had Emily Smith from Oak Grove Baptist Church speak, and she was AMAZING! Such a hilarious speaker with a great message! Here are some pictures of the tables! :)

We had a great time, and can't wait to do it again! We had talked about having another tea around the holidays but some of our hostesses are expecting babies and it may not be possible, but it might work out. We had a great time of fellowship with our sisters in Christ! :)

The Sweet Life of Sitting

Some days are easy as pie, and those days usually consist of 2, maybe 3 children present. Yesterday, was definitely not one of those days. I had my regular plus a few extra, not the best way to start my week with babies off there schedule and nap time was a bust! Today, however, was calmer than most Tuesday's. You see, my fellow sitter, Neecie and I have a theory. Monday's are usually amazing!! Tuesday's, negative. Monday the kiddos are supposed to be so tired from the weekend and just plain lazy. Tuesday, they should be raring to go and attempting to get back on schedule. Wednesday, back on schedule and pretty good day! By Thursday, I'm almost to the point that if they eat and get a nap, I'm happy! Now Friday, Friday is the day where I don't care! Forget crafts, did we sing our ABC's already? Did we practice our colors and numbers yet? Probably not. Lots of time outside, nap time might be 5 minutes or it might be 3 hours, but honestly who cares? It's Friday! But guess what?? As I post this, it's Tuesday!

Spring!

We had our annual Easter Egg Hunt at church Wednesday night (4-4-12) Lots of fun of course, these are just some pics of me & Harlie Bea hanging around after the party!
Josh & I, along with Michelle, Brian & Jenn made a trip down to Orange Beach this past weekend. (3/30-4/1). We recently purchased a "pop up" camper, so we wanted to give it a try. We did some research and booked us a lot at the Plantation Harbor. Let's just say...we were the ONLY pop up! That seems to be an "established" neighborhood. HA! We rode around and found a better camp ground to our liking and a little more convenient when it comes to outings. Good bye Plantation Harbor, Hello Gulf State Park!

Below, is a picture of Michelle & Brian at the pool at PH. I was so impressed with her Baby Bump, I opted for a photo op on my iPhone. So you just get a small glimpse. You can check out her blog here! We are so excited to welcome Bekah Elaine in July!
Ever since Ally & Ty were little, I always made a big deal out of St. Patrick's Day and this year is no different! This particular year, it fell on Saturday (much more convenient for our busy lives!) I called over to the Busby's around 10:00 AM and Ally answered with "I knew it would be you calling...." :) You see, Ally & Ty have there very own LEPRECHAUN! His name is Mr. Mulan and we have been trying to catch him for years. He sends us on hunts, sometimes all over town, sometimes in there own house. This year, it started at Veteran's Park & ended at my house. We didn't catch him, but he left some awesome goodies. I told them he probably is waiting on there new baby brother or sister to arrive (OCTOBER 2012!!!) before letting us catch him! As always, maybe next year.....
The beginning of March, Mom and I made a trip to Marvin's for some pretty Spring flowers, got to make the outside of my house a little more colorful! This was the beginning product...this was a month ago and they are already blooming & growing more each day!
Josh is working a lot these days. If he isn't at SPEC, he's cutting grass on the side. (It's that time again, call for all your lawn care needs-sorry had to throw that in there ;) ) This week has been chaos and I don't think either of us have been home before 7:00, between Zumba class (yes, I love it!), church, Ty's baseball games, grass cutting, Josh getting some OT (i'm not complaining), just a very busy week! Maybe we can slow down for the Easter weekend with our family. Today is Good Friday, the reason we are all FORGIVEN! Because God sent his Son to die for all of us! On Sunday, we will celebrate His resurrection! His is Risen!!!

What keeps my days busy....

The beginning of December, I began keep a few kiddos in my home. And boy, has it been a ride! Some days are easy, some not so much! We do crafts, play, nap, cry, smile, scream, laugh, etc. And when I say "WE" I really include myself sometimes!

Harlie & Avery made a craft for Valentine's Day!
Ethan in his cute little hunting hat!
We celebrated Dr. Suess's birthday!
Avery & Dawson LOVE to hang out on the front porch and go "pow, pow" to the birds & squirrels.
