8 months!

Holy bananas batman. I haven't updated in 4 months? Luckily I am keeping up with everything Virginia Lynn does! She's officially into everything and I have to keep my floors spotless! She's crawling, climbing, pulling up and even taking steps along side furniture! She has 3 teeth, 2 on bottom, 1 on top. Lover of Veggie Tales & Winnie the Pooh! Recently we discovered she's a big fan of fish, pizza, & teddy grahams! She eats more table food, so that means less formula (score!) Since we are taking a break from teething she has slept all night, whoop whoop! Huge Momma's girl, but loves her Daddy too! She is much happier with a playmate, she loves playing with Bekah all the time, Grady at home and Hunter, Addison & Kinley in the nursery!

We are so excited for a season of firsts with our sweet girl. We are preparing for our upcoming holidays, Halloween costume is a work in progress, thanksgiving outfits are monogrammed. Christmas pajamas ordered! :-) maybe ill remember to update!

VL-4 Months!

With a 13 pound 15 ounce baby stretched across my lap this morning in all her 24 inch long glory, I'm still in awe. I'm still in love with my sweet girl at 4 months old, definitely more than I was when she was born. My heart is so full, she is a pure joy! {Psalms 126:3}

On May 9th, she rolled from back to belly but no one actually saw her do it. (This happened several times after) Her daddy also gave her ice cream on this day, not with my approval I assure you!

This month she also found her toes, started eating cereal, went on her first over night trip (Montgomery & Destin), said Momma (no big deal, right?) Haha, not many people believe us but she definitely says it on occasion. Especially after her shots yesterday, she wanted me for sure! She keeps her hands in her mouth and sometimes she can wiggle those fingers far enough down to gag herself, lovely huh? On May 31st, the day  we came home from Destin I laid her on her belly for some tummy time. She quickly rolled to her side so I grabbed Josh's phone and we were able to catch it on video! She's awake more often for sure but still sleeps great at night, except on our trips, that didn't go so well..

VL-3 Months!

I can't believe it, I just can't. With every passing month it blows my mind! It seems like only yesterday...She CAN'T be 3 months already! I'm sorry, I'll probably still be going through this every single month. I'll be that Mom that says "My baby is 469 weeks old"...okay, I hope not because it's rediculous. But really? Why is she practically a teenager?

Virginia Lynn at 2 months:
•Blows bubbles & sticks her tongue out
•Loves to look at lights!
•Swinging with Momma & Daddy on the back deck is her favorite!
•Smiling, cooing & squealing is done often
•Her favorite cartoons are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse & LaLaLoopsy..
•She loves to be in her stroller but falls fast asleep if I start running!
•She will try to stand straight up in your lap like she's grown or something!
•Hates tummy time!
•Perfected the pouty look!
•She's starting to rub her eyes when she's getting sleepy.
•SLEEP! Y'all, the girls got it going on! 12 hours every night with only 2 feedings during that time that are usually at 2:30 AM & 6:00 AM! Her bedtime is between 9:30-10 PM and she usually will sleep until 9:30-10 AM, I'm not ever going to complain, nope not one bit!

At her 2 month check up! (before the lady with the needles came in!)

Smiling at her Daddy!

Standing on the table at David's Catfish in Thomasville for Amanda Jo's rehearsal dinner!

Bundled up outside!

Bath time is getting much easier! :)

Sitting in church with her Papa!

Here's that pouty face I was telling you about...

We love spending our days together!

What they love to do best ;)

3 months old, growing way too fast, way too soon!

Virginia Lynn is 2 months old!

Tell me..please! How did it happen? How on earth is she already 2 months old? She is like the most precious baby in the whole world, ya'll. I'm probably a little biased, but I mean really, she is such a good baby! We definitely can't complain!

Here are 1 month pictures. She HATED getting her picture taken, when we went for newborn photos, it was not so great either. She's really going to have to get over that, because I take way too many pictures!

When we went to VL's 1 month check up, we asked the doctor to look at 2 spots on her back. We assumed they were both birth marks (because we're clueless!) Turns out, they were hemangiomas. (Which is like a cluster of blood vessels) Because of the location on one of the hemandiomas, we had to take her to USA Women & Children's Hospital for an ultra sound and xray on her lumbar to make sure it was not pressing on her spinal cord. The ultra sound went by smoothly but the xray TICKED HER OFF! She cried and screamed the whole time until they were finished! Daddy quickly came to the rescue and she was better within minutes! Both test came back fine and we have a healthy little girl! She weighed 9 pounds even at her 1 month check up and I'm pretty positive her length was the same as it was at birth, 20 1/2 inches long!

We have had several play dates with our bff Hunter Busby!

We have lots of lazy days!

We play on our play pad every afternoon!

Virginia Lynn celebrated her first Easter! And the Easter bunny came too!

So much has happened over the last month, I know I'm not covering half of it! Virginia Lynn is awake a lot more often now too! She is holding her head up pretty well. She even freaked me out a few weeks ago, I laid her down on her belly for a nap, and when I checked on her, she was on her back! Please tell her to stop it! She LOVES to watch her big cousin Bekah play and Bekah loves to give her kisses! :)

Here are her 2 month updates!

Virginia Lynn Lowery

The most beautiful baby in the whole world was born on February 1, 2013...well, at least Josh & I think so but we might be a little biased. :-)

The whole day was a bit of a blur for this drug induced Momma but I do remember every bit of her delivery and I had no idea the amount of emotions and outpouring love you could feel for a 7 pound 14 ounce baby in about 1 split second of meeting her. I've loved her since we found out about her on June 7, 2012 but the depth of that love has definitely expanded. Being a Mommy is all I've ever wanted and she makes my heart overflow with love and JOY! Virginia Lynn is worth every ache & pain of pregnancy, all the heart burn and all that extra weight I have to lose, haha!

Tomorrow, at 2:26 PM she will be 1 month old, and I'd be lying if I said that I didn't tear up a little while typing that! Time is already flying by way too fast. I'm one of those Momma's who HATES to leave her baby for even a second, although I've had to but never more than 45 minutes! I'll probably cry like a baby the day I have to!

At one month old, she is sleeping pretty well at night, she only wakes about twice a night, which is way better than 3-4 times! She is trying to hold her head up by herself on her own. And she loves when Momma gives her a bath but cries when Daddy does! ;) she can sleep all day long but when Josh's truck pulls in the driveway she is wide awake and ready to play! We go for VL's one month appointment tomorrow so we will see how much she weighs!

So once again I tell you...

"The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with JOY!" Psalms 126:3

Meet Virginia

I've been singing "Meet Virginia" by Train for about two weeks now. It started on a Sunday morning when I woke up feeling pretty miserable. It's crazy because I haven't even thought about this song my entire pregnancy. I do NOT relate this song to my child at all, it was just one of those mornings I was wishing she was in my arms and not in my belly and thought I can't wait to "Meet Virginia Lynn"! And the song was suddenly in my head! Josh laughed when I told him it was in my head. I even got a little giggle out of our Sunday school class when they asked how I was feeling that morning and I told them what I had been singing since I woke up.

It's now in my head again, 3 days before we get to meet our sweet girl!

Words cannot even DESCRIBE how excited I am!

37 week down, 2 to go!! :)

2 WEEKS

That is ALL that is left before I can hold my sweet baby girl! I'd love to say that time has flown by but I can't say that honestly. Some days I think "Didn't I just find out I was pregnant like yesterday?" or "I've been pregnant for like a year now!" I cannot believe we are so close to this answered prayer and we are SO blessed!

We did have a little "Oh my gosh, this is it" moment on Monday. After Josh had been sick with the stomach virus all weekend, he decided to stay home from work because he still wasn't feeling 100%. I woke up that morning not feeling so hot myself, and after about 2 hours of timing it, contractions are in full swing with there own little schedule. So, we call the doctor and of course was told to go on to Mobile. Josh is all of a sudden feeling a TON better. My mom has already left work at this point. So we are sitting in the living room watching JOSH run around like crazy. WHY you ask? Because he of course didn't have anything together even though I've been telling him for weeks he needs to be packing a bag. He says "Are ya'll waiting on me?" "YES! I say between contractions!" Finally he is ready. I honestly do not remember a lot of the ride. Momma did tell me I told Josh to shut up at least twice. By the time we hit the Dolly Parton bridge, I start feeling nauseated. It hit so fast. And I was sick immediately. Sorry, it was not pleasant for me either, promise. By this time, Josh has started speeding up and the flashers are on. I remember nothing after this. Except, Mom asked if I had a change of clothes that would be decent to wear into the doctors office. Luckily, I had packed in my hospital bag a pair of yoga pants and a long sleeved tee. I awkwardly get changed in the car in the parking garage at Mobile Infirmiry. Dr. C sees me almost immediately! (We LOVE him, by the way!) He confirms that I am NOT in "real" labor, just FALSE labor and says I more than likely have Josh's lovely stomach virus. So, clear liquid diet and 24 hour bedrest. Thanks hun, love you too.

The contractions stayed on until about 8-9 PM that night, but were not as strong as they were earlier in the day. It was a rough couple of days after that but I am FINALLY recovered!

fyi: this virus was so crazy! it spread so fast and hard! we had to cancel all children activities at church because half the teachers had the virus or their kids did!

I had to go back to the doctor yesterday for my regular check up, still no change. I go back next Friday for another check up and then will be induced on February 1st! We are as ready as we are going to be for this little girl! We can't wait to see her face and hold her!

Have I said this lately?

The Lord has done great things for us...

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!

It's just an expression folks, but that's how I feel right now. In complete awe but so excited all at the same time! I started my weekly check ups today and Dr. C mentioned scheduling an inducing date (because we do have an hour and a half drive!) Out of the dates he gave us, we have chose February 1st! So, we will have a baby in 27 days UNLESS I go into labor before, which we will be fine with too! This makes things feel very real for us but we are beyond thrilled!

I'm still feeling pretty good, for the most part. Sleep doesn't come easy. I've gotten where I stay up as late as I can in hopes that when I lay down I will just drift off, but between the heart burn, restless legs, and a baby pressing on my bladder, it still takes a while to fall asleep.

Virginia Lynn is a very active little girl! She is constantly pressing on her Mommy's side, just to make sure I don't forget about her. ;)  My belly is growing like crazy but I've been lucky enough not to have put on a TON of weight...yet! Yeah, I know, it's still early. :) We are so excited and extremely blessed!

Granny

From the first granddaughter to the last, she loved us all the best!

Our memories of Granny will always remain;
Peanut butter sandwiches after
swimming and camping in the rain.

"Wash your hands before eating!"…
"Let's play Liverpool rummy!";
"She's my Granny not yours!"
but Ally is her little honey!

Christmas lights and parades is what Granny loved best!
Dairy Queen and the Price Is Right…
"Please pick up your mess!"

Smokey Mountain Christmas & climbing Granny's trees…
We would always be in trouble but she loved us anyway!

Blueberry muffins & pancakes always made our day!
"Hey darlin'!" was our favorite thing to hear our Granny say!

Playing with her dolls and taking pictures in front of her azalea bush;
Sleeping between Granny and PaPa while listening to the birds sing!

From the first granddaughter to the last, she loved us all the best!

It's hard to believe that it has been 6 years since we lost our Granny. We miss her more each year but we know she is busy rocking a couple of grandbabies in Heaven :)
